The Montessori Children’s Center International was founded in 1990 by Ms Greta Gomley with the help of Ms Marina Rossi and Ms Weeravan Moontripakdee (Ms Wee). These three teachers are dedicated to the principals and philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. The school has grown from an initial intake of 8 students and 3 teachers to a current enrolment of 85 students with 17 teachers and assistants. The growth has been phased starting with one preschool class, followed by the addition of a Kindergarten class, and finally an Elementary Home Schooling program. Last year a very popular Parent and Toddler Playgroup was added to our school community catering to upwards of 30 toddlers plus their parents. In the summer of 1999, the ownership was fully transferred to Ms Wee, and she has developed the school utilizing a staff of native English speaking lead teachers supported with trained Thai teaching assistants.
